London Pride 2015

On Saturday 27 June, members of the Law Society, Bar Council, Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx), Interlaw Diversity Forum for LGBT Networks (InterLaw Diversity Forum), Bar Lesbian and Gay Group (BLAGG) and the Junior Lawyers Division will once again parade through the streets of London.

We will be celebrating lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) diversity in the legal profession under the banner ‘Equality under the law’ and promoting the message ‘Legal heroes fighting for LGBT justice’.

To register to march for equality with the legal sector in the PRIDE in London parade, please email: legalpride@lawsociety.org.uk.

We will provide banners and t-shirts for those marching.

Pre-parade networking drinks – Friday 26 June

Pre-Pride drinks will be held at the Law Society Offices at 113 Chancery Lane on Friday 26 June from 18:00 until 20:00. Please RSVP via email: legalpride@lawsociety.org.uk.

Arrangements for the day – Saturday 27 June

The official meeting point for the legal sector will be Chiltern Street at 12:30. The parade will start at 13:00.

A post-march party starting immediately after the parade ends will provide ample opportunity for networking and socialising.

A final reminder that BLAGG will be hosting its second ladies only event onFriday 6th March 2015 to coincide with international women’s day on 8th March 2015 and also to raise a glass to Deirdre Fottrell’s recent appointment as a QC.

Proceedings will kick off with some food and drink at the Bridge Bar in Grays Inn from 6.30pm

and then we will move on to She Bar in Soho for some bubbles and cocktails at 9.30pm until late. If you are meeting us there at she bar we are going to reserve a table under my name so just ask the staff if you can’t find me or text me

There is no charge for the event but there will be a £2 per head entry to She Bar for those for decide to stay on afterwards which will be payable by each individual

This event has no dress code but sorry lads it is women only (we will organise another BLAGG event soon for all).

We would like to invite you to a party to celebrate 20 years since BLAGG was formed in the Inns of Court to support and assist lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender persons at the bar and in the legal profession.

It will be a chance to celebrate everything that BLAGG has achieved over the past few years and to thank those who have continued to support us. It will be a fun and informal affair with food, wine, excellent views of the river from Tom’s terrace and good company so please join us.

Following on from the success of our previous lecture on the subject of gay adoption, BLAGG is hosting, in collaboration with GLADD and ParliOUT, a talk in respect of International and Domestic Surrogacy for same sex couples.

We are very privileged to have experts in the field to speak to us about this growing method of parenting:

The lecture will last for 1 hour followed by informal drinks at the venue or at a local bar.
